ask the library -- lending services -- reference services -- reprographic-services -- documents
The PNP Library makes its collections and book depositories available to registered users for on-site studies in the study hall, through its lending services. Users of the study hall may use a reference library, the daily press, and the latest issue of magazines subscribed by the library.
How to register
Individuals and institutions become registered users of the library based upon a filled-in research form, which is verified by the staff-in-charge at the study hall against personal ID.
On-site loans
Upon order, manuscripts, books, magazines, and other documents from the collection and book depositories are presented to the registered user for studies in a designated section of the study hall.
Off-site loans
PNP staff may borrow material and take it to their personal study rooms for such period as is necessary for their scholarly work. The rules for off-site loans are set forth in a director's guideline. Loans to institutions for exhibitions and other purposes require the prior written consultation of the Head of the Library and the consent of the Director of the PNP.
Order Procedure
Information on a desired document can be searched using classic card catalogues or the electronic catalogue. Orders from the electronic catalogue can be placed directly from its webpages.
Inter-library lending services
If the requested document is not on stock in the depositories of the PNP Library, then the staff-in-charge at the study hall will, on request by the registered user, procure this document using the inter-library lending service, either from another library in the Czech Republic or from a library abroad (through the Czech National Library).
