Scholars may study the PNP collections only on-site, on the premises of the PNP study halls, and based on a filled-in research form issued by the individual departments and approved by the head of the respective collections department. The terms of study are contained in Rules of Research. The study halls offer card catalogues of the collections, an electronic library catalogue, a guide to the literary archive depositories, and a Janus database browser. Via internet access, you may research the scanned card catalogues of the PNP Library (and other eminent libraries in the Czech Republic); these scans were produced within the National Information System for Retroconversion (NRIS). Scholars have access to a small reference library and a selection of periodicals and daily papers. Inter-institutional loans for exhibitions and other purposes always require prior written consultation with the head of the respective collections department and the consent of the Director of the PNP.
